This Day: Visit us each day for a contemplative experience – an image, a Scripture reading, a quotation from Fruit of the Vine, a query, and a poem-prayer. On Saturday each week, we will feature an excerpted Quaker testimony. On Sunday each week, we will offer a Scripture reading, historic Quaker quotation, questions for consideration, and a personal essay from the Illuminate lesson for that week.

Scripture: Galatians 6:9–10

“Being intentional means being present and having a plan. Write down character traits, morals, and spiritual truths you have found significant in your own journey – what you find imperative to instill in others. Ask what God might have to say in the matter. Consider how these truths might be best demonstrated, or how they may be taught (or caught). Then do it!” –Flo Harvey, Fruit of the Vine

Query: Do you act with intention? Are you alert and mindful?

A litany is only a list,

but a good litany is a gateway—

every name a truth,

a beauty, a memory,

a promise to you of remembering.

–Peg Edera, from “Contours” in Love Is Deeper Than Distance
