My family and I live just outside Newberg, Oregon, on a wooded hillside with views of hay fields and hazelnut orchards. My husband is an administrator at a local middle school, and for more than 17 years I've been a "stay-at-home" mom first and foremost (although in my case that seems like an oxymoron). Our oldest daughter attends Seattle Pacific University; our other two children are students at our local high school. I often tell folks I have two goals in life for my children: that they will all learn to use apostrophes correctly, and that they will learn how to make really good chocolate chip cookies. We’re still working on the apostrophes.
I work part time as an editor with Barclay Press, read weekly to elementary students through S.M.A.R.T. (Start Making A Reader Today), and participate in a mothers’ prayer group. I enjoy coffee and conversations with friends, and (try to) keep our household running smoothly. Quilting is my main hobby, and I also find time for writing, reading, and baking.
