my view: marijuana is illegal largely for political reasons; the reasons not to use it are roughly the same as for alcohol, plus the simple rule of thumb, to obey the laws of worldly governments except when to do so would violate God's laws.

as for carrying extra weight, it's not illegal, but to the extent it's bad for health, it's not totally OK.
