Church is both a social and spiritual experience. As the body of Christ, even if we gather for purely social events, we are still building bonds and showing our love for one another--building and strengthening the body of Christ. Conversely, even when we gather for purely spiritual events, we ask questions about each other's lives and share our humorous and painful experiences of the week before. I don't think we can have one without the other--spirituality without social aspects is solitude.

I believe it is both. As we gather together each week we build up one another socialy by caring for one another and spiritualy by being built up with the reading and teaching of God's word from the pulpit.
