Sunday is not an option as a true Sabbath for folks in Sunday worship-leadership roles.
So, one has to think creatively, and guard fiercely, alternative opportunities for Sabbath.

I have to mark out a time frame in my schedule book and be diligent about keeping that time free.

Sometimes that has meant packing some graham crackers and fruit and physically getting away to a secluded or anonymous spot for a personal retreat.
Other times it may mean simply staying home and unplugging the phone, focusing on a simple day of rest.

What is Sabbath rest to me, translated through my personality and interests, may not match that of others. Each person's expression is valid and must be respected.

Lately, I've been trying to have an internet Sabbath on saturdays. It's a day to shut down my computer, stay offline, and be present with family.
