Following the style used by my friend Gregg Koskela in his bio: I am Dennis's wife; Christi, Ryan, and Natalie's mom; Brian and Jen's mother-in-love; soon to be grandmother of two; and a member of Glendora Friends Church in Glendora, California. My journey with Christ has led me to ministry in a variety of contexts where I continue to wrestle with why the church is often not a safe place to bring (or reveal) our pain and weakness. In the midst of my own “queries” and profound weakness, Marva Dawn's book and the questions she offers to the church have been a grace.
